Review and Reflection on the Exploration of Artistic Conception in Chinese- English Classical Poetry Translation

Artistic conception,an indispensable part of Chinese classical aesthetics,is of great importance to the exploration of the hidden meaning and sentimentality of Chinese poems. Therefore,how to convey such meaningful and significant beauty is crucial to the translation of Chinese poems. However,the translation of Chinese poems is developed with inherent shortages,when it involves the two totally different languages,cultures as well as ways of thinking,which discourages batches of translators from forwarding such beauty with Chinese characteristics. Tough as it is,the resolutions may be acquired. On account of the ardent love to Chinese poems,a real treasure of Chinese culture,this article is designed to validate the magnitude of artistic conception for the translation of Chinese poems and for the spread of Chinese culture. Furthermore,some analysis and comments on the theories and masterpieces of Professor Xu Yuanchong,Lv Shuxiang and other scholars,will be made to contemplate how to overcome the above- mentioned defects.
