Abstract

Language testing,a regular measurement of foreign language teaching(FLT),exerts both positive and negative effects on the two sides of teaching.To begin with the classification and characteristics of language testing,this paper focuses on the nature,origin and demonstration of the negative washback in FLT,and it also puts forward some suggestions on improving FLT by trying to avoid the negative washback.
