Abstract

Washback effect of language testing on foreign language teaching and learning has always been a topic for discussion by applied linguists and foreign language teachers.The article first introduces the theory of washback effect in language testing and its basic model,on the basis of which,both negative and positive washback effect of CET on foreign language teaching and learning is analyzed.Relevant suggestions are made as to how to facilitate positive effect on the present college English test.
