Abstract

Objective:To explore the mechanism of Fu-a Decoction in the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(D-IBS).Methods:48 Waster rats were divided randomly into 6 groups:normal group, model group,large-dose herb group,middle-dose herb group,small-dose herb group and Dicetel group.Cold-binding applications were given to establish similar model of D-IBS.Measuring the feces particles and the small intestinal propulsive function of the rats.Concentrations of gastrointestinal hormones(VIP,SP)in plasma were detected with RIA.Results:The low-dose group significantly reduce the feces particles and the small intestinal propulsive function, while the middle and large-dose herb group, the Dicetel group did it(P0.05);The plasma VIP of high and middle dose group was reduced, compared with model group, there are significant differences(P0.01);The plasma SP of various groups were not significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion:Fu-an Decoction acts to treat D-IBS probably by adjusting the secretion of VIP and reducing the small intestinal propulsive function.
