Mental Health Status of Freshmen in the Clinical College of a Medical University

Objective To examine the mental health status of the freshmen, in order to adopt the related interventions and to promote the college students' mental health. Methods University Personality Inventory (UPI) was used to examine the mental health status of 781 freshmen in clinical college. Results The prevalence of mental problems was 29.9%. There was no statistical significance between the gender, the specialties, from the family of the only child or multi-children, the first volunteer to specialty, the first examination to university or not, from the city or the countryside (P0.05). Conclusion It is necessary to give consultation and treatment to the students who have mental problems.
