Abstract

Objective: To explore the dynamic change of serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha((TNF-α),) interleukin-8(IL-8) and leptin in the occurrence of cerebral infarction and analyze the(relationship) between IL-8 and the severity of cerebral infarction. Methods: 60 patients with acute cerebral infarction were admitted to hospital within 24 hours after stroke. The serum levels of TNF-α,IL-8 and leptin in these patients were measured by radioimmunoassay, and the nervous functions were evaluated by European Stroke Scale(ESS) on days 1,3 and 7 respectively after hospitalization. At the same time,30 normal adults were set as control group. Results: The levels of serum TNF-α,IL-8 and leptin in 60 patients with acute cerebral infarction were all higher than those in the controls. There was relationship between ESS and the levels of IL-8.Conclusion: IL-8 is involved in the occurrence and development of the disease.High serum(TNF-α) and leptin are risky signs of acute infartion.
