Abstract
Objective To explore the method to ensure blood safety by analyzing the status of four infection indices for unpaid blood donation.Methods The blood test results of unpaid blood donators in Lu’an from 2007 to 2009 were retrospectively analyzed with statistical methods.Results During the past three years,the positive rate of four infection indices for unpaid blood donation had a ascend trend.The statistical difference was found in the positive rate of HBsAg,but not in Anti-HCV,Anti-HIV and TP,between blood samples from the urban district and from other blood donation stations.The positive rate of infection of TP was much higher than that of developed cities and the surrounding areas,and a serious screening test before donation was needed.Conclusion The strict standard testing methods and scientific assessment system can improve the accuracy of tests and ensure the blood safety.The consulting service and health education for voluntary blood donors is also necessary for safe blood supply.
