Abstract
Objective To study the sistuation of unpaid blood donors and the quality of collected blood. Methods The sistuation of blood donor without repayment and quality of collected blood from 2000 to 2004 in central blood bank of Xinyang city were analized statistically. Results There were distinct differences between every years to another(P0.001) except for the comparison between 2001 and 2002,2003 and 2004;The rejection rate of blood, which resulted from positive HBsAg and antibody of syphilis, was significantly different between male and female donators(χ~2=11.873,P0.05;χ~2=5.935,P0.05). Rejected blood was mainly form 18 to 25 years old donors, and the higher rejection rate of blood concentrated mainly in the age between 26 and 35 years, which was remarkably different from the other age groups(P0.001). Conclusion It is very significant for the improvement of blood quality to strength the masses' healthy education and further publicize the knowledge of blood donation.
