Abstract
Objective: This study is to investigate the expression of VEGF as well as differentiation after exposure of osteoblasts to hypoxic stimulus. Methods: The osteoblasts obtained from the newly born calvaria of SD rats were cultured by the method of enzyme digestion in vitro. After establishing the hypoxic model, we detected the expression of VEGF by laser confocal microscope and explored the OCN content by radioimmunoassy. Results:When the cells were cultured for the first three days , the O.D. value of VEGF and the OCN content of hypoxic group were increased comparing with that of normal group. Conclusions: Hypoxia(1~3 days)can increase the high expression of VEGF and improve the differentiation of osteoblasts.
