Abstract
Sodium hydrogen sulphate is a good catalyst on the esterification reaction of butyl butyrate. The most suitable conditions have been found. The optimum condition are selected as following: The weight of catalyst is 0.2g/0.1mol butylatic acid, the mole ratio of acid to alchol is 1:3 and the reaction time is 1.5h. The esterification of butylatic acid is about 99.0% .Experimental results showed that sodinm hydrogen sulphate is a excellent catalyst of the esterification reaction, with high catalytic activity, little amount, good esterification, little waste discarged. and low price. It is very valuable in practice.
