Abstract

Determination of rutin from buckwheat (fagopyrum tataricum) by microcolumn high performance liquid chromatography was studied. Rutin was extracted from samples with 80% of methanol by heating for 30min and isolated on a Waters Xterra TM RP-18 chromatographic column (1.0×50?mm, 2.5?μm) eluted with methanol containing 1% of acetic acid at a flow rate of 0.2?ml/min, and monitored with the photodiode array detector at 356?nm. The method was applied to the determination of rutin from buckwheat with good results.
