Curative Observation on Fumigation with Herb and Intra-Articular Sodium Hyaluronate Injection in Treating 30 Cases of Knee Osteoarthritis

Abstract
Objection: To observe clinical effects of herb fumigation and intra-articular sodium hyaluronate injection in treating knee osteoarthritis.Method: Sixty patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group,30 cases each group.Both groups received sodium hyaluronate injection to knee joint cavity,2mL each time,once per week,for three times continuously.Observation group were also administered with DuHuoJiShengTang for external application,twice per day.One session was 15 days,for two sessions.Result: Cure rate of observation group was 36.67%,higher than 20.00% of control group with statistical meaning(P0.05).Total effective rate of observation was 76.67%,superior to 66.67% of control group with statistical meaning(P0.05).Comparisons before and after treating suggested statistical meaning in knee function scores(P0.05);comparisons between both groups after treating showed statistical meaning(P0.05).Conclusion: Herb fumigation combined with intra-articular sodium hyaluronate is effective in treating knee osteoarthritis and could improve knee function.
