Clinical Observation of Sodium Hyaluronate Injection plus Herbal Fumigation in Treating Knee Osteoarthritis

To observe the clinical effects of sodium hyaluronate injection plus herbal fumigation in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, 126 subjects were randomized into two groups: treatment group in which 67 cases were treated by intra-articular sodium hyaluronate injection plus herbal fumigation and control group in which 59 cases were treated just by intra-articular sodium hyaluronate injection, with a course of five weeks. The pain relief, knee function improvement and acting period were observed in the two groups. Results: The effect-acting period was shorter, and pain relief and knee function improved better in treatment group than in control group(P 0.05). It is indicated that sodium hyaluronate injection plus herbal fumigation is excellently effective for knee osteoarthritis.
