Abstract

Objective To compare the difference of intraocular pressure measured by non contact tonometer (NCT) and Goldmann applanation tonometer and to research the influence of central corneal thickness on the measurements of IOP obtained with NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer. Methods central corneal thickness,IOP measured by NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer were measured on 108(216 eyes)patients before PRK or LASIK.Results There is significant difference between IOP measured by NCT and IOP by Goldmann applanation tonometer (F=89 7044, P 0 01).CCT was positive relative to the IOP measured by NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer. The correlated coefficients are r=0 4960(t=8 3563, P 0 001) and r=0 2113(t=3 1623, P 0 001) respectively. Conclusions There is difference between IOP measured by NCT and IOP by Goldmann applanation tonometer.IOP measured by NCT was higher than which measured by Goldmann applanation tonometer. The influence of central corneal thickness on the measurements of intraocular pressure with NCT was bigger than Goldmann applanation tonometer.
