Abstract

Objective:To compare the difference of intraocular pressure measured by non-contact tonometer(NCT)and Goldmann applanation tonometer and to study the influence of central corneal thickness on the measurements of IOP obtained with NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer. Methods:Central corneal thickness,IOP measured by NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer were measured on 108(216 eyes)patients before PRK or LASIK.Results:There was significant difference between IOP measured by NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer(F=89.7044,P0.01).CCT was positively related to the IOP measured by NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer. The correlated coefficients are r=0.4960(t=8.3563,P0.001)and r=0.2113(t=3.1623,P0.001),respectively.Conclution:There was difference between IOP measured by NCT and Goldmann applanation tonometer.IOP measured by NCT was higher than that measured by Goldmann applanation tonometer. The influence of central corneal thickness on the measurements of intraocular pressure with NCT was greater than that of Goldmann applanation tonometer.
