Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between recurrent abortion and chromosome abnormality. Methods Chromosome karyotypes for the 154 couples with the history of recurrent abortion were analysed. Results Abnormal chromosome karyotypes were found in 24 cases of all the 154 couples accounting for 15.58% of the total. Among the abnormalities, 15 cases were balanced transloca-tion, 3 cases were inversion between arms, 5 case were Y chromosome mutation and 1 case was somatic chromosome mutation. Conclusion Disfavorable pregnancy such as abortion may result from chromosome aberration in any side of the couple with recurrent abortion. The 9th chromosome inversion and Y chromosome variation are closely related to the early recurrent adortion.
