In Shen Congwen's artistic world,there is a striking contrast between the western Hunan life form and the city life form,but on the whole being in favor of the western Hunan life form.This tendency,no doubt shows Shen Congwen's localism stance and the unique observation vision of a villager to some extent,but more importantly conveys his life ideal by which his unique artistic pursuit is displayed.Therefore,in order to understand all Shen Congwen's writings,it is critical to make a thorough inquiry of the western Hunan life form from which we can find some important aspects of Shen Cong-wen's unique creation.
