Abstract
Wang Zhi was an important figure in study of The Book of Odes in Song Dynasty.His Shi Zongwen was compiled and written over a course of thirty years.It emphasizes poetry rather than prefaces to poems,and Wang Zhi's theory ofYinqingqiuyiwas innovative,breaking with tradition in its focus on human feelings and relations.With the method of comparative criticism of what forefathers said,he holds to set up the intention of the author,and quoting Qu Yuan's Li Sao and Jiao Shi's Yi Lin,he compared evaluation.It is with this peculiar rigor that Wang Zhi conducted a critical survey of The Book of Odes,unique in individual perspective,thought and intellectual method.
