Investigation of acupuncture combined with medicine on the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis with weakness of the spleen and the stomach

Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with medicine on the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis with weakness of the spleen and the stomach.Methods 75 cases of diabetic gastroparesis with weakness of the spleen and the stomach were randomly divided into two groups.37 patients in treatment group were treated by acupuncture combined with medicine.38 cases in control group were treated by oral Chinese herbs treatment.The therapeutic course was four weeks in two groups.Overall efficacy,Traditional Chinese Medicine symptom score and improvement of gastric emptying rate indicators were observed before and after treatment in two groups.Results The total effective rate in treatment group(78.4%) was higher than that in control group(57.9%,P0.05).There was obvious difference between two groups on the gastric emptying rate(P0.05).The gastric emptying rate was higher in treatment group.The improvement of Traditional Chinese Medicine symptom in treatment group was superior to that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with medicine has definite effect on the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis.
