Clinical observation of Suangan granula combined with acupuncture on the treatment of primary Sjogren's syndrome

Objective To observe the clinical effects of Suangan granula combined with acupuncture on primary Sjgren's syndrome( p SS). Methods 96 p SS patients were randomly divided into two groups. 48 patients in control group were treated by oral total glucosides of paeony. 48 p SS patients in treatmend group were treated by Suangan granula combined with acupuncture on the basis of control group treatment. The course was two months in two groups. The traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) syndrome effect,TCM symptom score,the changes of C- reactive protein( CRP),immunoglobulin g( Ig G),erythrocyte sedimentation rate( ESR),Schirmer test and salivary flow rate before and after treatment were observed in two groups. Results The TCM syndrome effect in treatment group was superior to that in control group( P 0. 05). The improvement of TCM symptom score in treatment group was obviously than that in control group( P 0. 05). As compared with control group,the levels of ESR,CRP,Ig G were significantly decreased in treatment group( P 0. 05),and the Schirmer test and salivary flow rate were increased( P 0. 05). Conclusion Combined therapy of Suangan granula and acupuncture has significant effect on p SS,can improve the patient's life quality.
