Comparison of Therapeutic Effects of Montelukast Combined with Seretide in the Treatment of Cough Variant Asthma in Children

Objective To compare therapeutic efficacy and safety of montelukast combined with seretide in the treatment of children with cough variant asthma(CVA).Methods 80 CVA patients were divided into two groups:the control group of 40 patients was treated with single inhalation of seretide,the observation group of 40 patients was treated with montelukast on the basis of the control group.Clinical efficacy,coughing score,cough relief/disappearance time,lung function changes and adverse reaction of the two groups were observed.Results The total efficacy rate of the observation group was 95.0%,better than 77.5% of the control group with statistically significant difference(P0.05).Differences in daytime and nighttime coughing scores of the two groups were statistically significant(P0.05).The difference in cough relief/disappearance time of the two groups was statistically significant(P0.05).The difference in peak expiration flow rate of the two groups was statistically significant(P0.05).No adverse reactions in both groups.Conclusion Seretide plus montelukast on CVA children can improve therapeutic effect,without increasing the adverse reactions,thus is worthy of popularization.
