Observation of the efficacy of narrow-band Ultraviolet B phototherapy in vitiligo

Abstract

objective To observe the efficacy and safety of narrow-band ultraviolet B(NB-UVB) in the treatment of patients with vitiligo and to compare with 0.05% halometasone cream.Methods 70 patients were divided randomly into two groups.43 patients were treated with NB-UVB in study group and 27 patients with 0.05% halometasone cream in control group.Results in study group,5 patients were cured,21 were apparently improved,the effective rate was 60.4%;in control group,2 patients were cured,7 were apparently improved,the effective rate was 33.3% The effective rate in narrow-band ultraviolet B-treated patients was highter than that in halometasone-treated patients,which was siganificant difference(P0.05).the efficacy was related to lesion areas and course of treatment.Conclusions.NB-UVB is effective with few adverse effects in the treatment of vitiligo
