Efficacy of Narrow-band UVB with Halometasone Cream in Treatment of Vitiligo

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and the safety of the narrow-band ultraviolet B(NB-UVB)radiation with halometasone cream in the treatment of vitiligo. Methods 44 cases of controls were only given 0.05% Halometasone cream,2 times/day, 45 patients with vitiligo were treated by a NB-UVB twice a week for 3 months rubbed in with halometasone cream at the same time. The therapeutic effect and safety were evaluated three months after the treatment.Results Among the 45 patients, the clinical efficacy was as follows: fully recovery in 10(22.2%) cases, significant improvement in 25(55.6%) cases. The total response rate(77.8%) was much higher than that (45.5%) of the contrast group. There is no apparent side-effect in the treatment. Conclusion The clinical data demonstrate that the treatment of NB-UVB with halometasone cream, which is acceptable for the patients, is a safe and effective method for vitiligo.
