Abstract
Objective To study the clinical significance of P gp?p53 and c erbB 2 expression in breast carcinoma tissues.Methods 82 cases of breast cancer specimens were examined for expression of P gp,p53 and c erbB 2 protein by immunohistochemical statining technique.Results The positive rates of P gp,p53 and c erbB 2 were 42.7%,14% respectively in breast cancer specimens.The expression of P gp had a significant correlation with p53 protein ( P 0.05) and not related to c erbB 2 protein.The expression of P gp was not correlated with age,pathological types,lymph node etastatsis and clinical stages.The disease free 5 years survival was not different between 13 cases of P gp positive expression and 27 cases of P gp negative expression ( P 0.05).Conclusion Breast cancer has intrinsic multidrug resistance;Expression of P gp was correlated with p53 protein.
