Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between the drug resistance and tumor′s biological characters, and the relation of P gp expression to p53?c erbB 2?nm23 in gastric cancer. Methods 33 cases of gastric cancer without chemotherapy were examined for expressions of P gp and p53?c erbB 2?nm23 by immunohistochemical staining technique. Results The positive rate of P gp and p53?c erbB 2?nm23 was 27.3%(9/33) and 57.6%(19/33)?39.4%(13/33)?84.9%(28/33) respectively in gastric cancer specimens. The expression of P gp had a significant correlation to p53?c erbB 2,was not correlated to histological grading and infiltrating deep and lymph node metastasis( P 0.05).Conclusion The expressions of P gp and p53?c erbB 2?nm23 can be as useful indexes for prognosis and drug resistance.
