Abstract
Objective: To investigate the level of HSP60 in gastric cancer and its relationship with angiogenesis.Methods: The protein expression of HSP60 were detected in 85 gastric cancer tissues and 35 normal adjacent tissues by immunohistochemistry respectively.Microvessel density(MVD) was evaluated by testing the expression of CD34.Results: The protein expression of HSP60 was higher in gastric cancer tissues than in normal adjacent tissues(P0.01),and the increased HSP60 expression was Significant correlation with the size,differentiation and invasion of tumor(P0.05),while the microvessel density in gastric cancer tissues was strong related to the size and invasion of tumor(P0.05).In addition,significant association were seen between microvessel density and HSP60 expression in gastric cancer tissues((r=0.404,P0.05).Conclusion: The higher expression of HSP60 is signi?cantly involved in angiogenesis and progression of gastric cancer,suggesting a role for HSP60 as a prognostic biomarker and potential therapeutic target for gastric cancer.
