Abstract

OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical efficacy of Irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide in treatment of elderly hypertension.METHODS According to the inclusion criteria,120 elderly patients with hypertension during the post-election visits were selected and randomly divided into observation and control groups, and each group have 60 cases.2 groups were treated with Zhu Huanzhe Regulating Emotions and light diet.Cases in control group were given captopril tablets,25mg/times,2 times per day before meals.Cases in observation group were given irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide tablets, once per day before meals. Two groups were treated for 2 weeks during the course of treatment. The changes and side effects of blood pressure were observed in the two groups before and after treatment, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated.RESULTS The markedly effective rate was 80.00%,total effective rate was 91.67%;control group,66.67% effective rate, the total effective rate was 76.67%.There was significant difference between the 2 groups(P﹤0.05).There was no significant difference between the 2 groups before treatment(P﹥0.05);After a course of treatment, the diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and systolic blood pressure(SBP)were significantly decreased compared with the pre-treatment(P﹤0.05),but there was no significant difference between two groups(P﹥0.05).The SBP and DBP of the treatment group after treatment for 2,3 and 4 courses significantly decreased compared with the control group(P﹤0.05).The liver and kidney function had no significant changes between the two groups before and after treatment(P﹥0.05).CONCLUSION Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazide had significant efficacy in treatment of hypertensive elderly.
