Study on Anxiety and Depression Status and the Influential Factors in Patients with Functional Dyspepsia

Objective: To investigate anxiety and depression status and its influential factors in patients with functional dyspepsia.Method: The clinical data of 36 patients with functional dyspepsia who were treated in the department of gastroenterology in our hospital from May 2010 to May 2012 were collected,they were surveyed by the self-made general data questionnaire,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-Rating depression Scale(SDS).Result: The mean scores of anxiety and depression were(53.48±2.57) and(54.42±2.82),the overall prevalence of anxiety and depression was 52.78% and 55.56% in patients with functional dyspepsia,respectively.Multivariate logistic analysis indicated that fully understanding the related knowledge of functional dyspepsia had a protective effect on anxiety and depression,female and old were risk factors for anxiety,respectively,and economic pressures was risk factor for anxiety and depression.Conclusion: The anxiety and depression is common in patients with functional dyspepsia and affected by many factors,we should take appropriate preventive measures in accordance with the patient's specific situation to reduce the occurrence of anxiety and depression in patients with functional dyspepsia.
