Expression of p27 in Human Cervix Carcinoma and Its Clinical Significa Nce

Objective To investigate the clinicopathological significance of p27 gene expression in cervical carcinomas.Methods Using immunohistochemistry technique,we examined the expression of p27 protein in 30 cases of normal cervix uteri,32 of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia,and 70 of cervix carcinoma(30 cases cervical adenocarcinoma and 40 cases squamous cervical carcinoma).Results The high expression rate of p27 in normal cervix uteri,cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical adenocarcinoma were 96.67 %,62.50%,40.00%.Compared with each other,they had a high significant difference(P0.05).The expression of p27 in cervical carcinoma was relate to histologic grade and lymph node metastasis(P0.05) and the prognosis of the positive expression of p27 protein group was better than that of the negative expression of p27 protein group;statistically there was difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion p27 is related to the occurrence,differentiation degree and lymph node metastasis and prognosis of cervical carcinoma.Detection of p27 protein expression could provide referring criteria for its diagnosis,predictor of prognosis and clinical comprehensive therapy.
