Abstract
Ethyl acetoacetate 1,2-propylene glycol ketal was synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate and 1,2-propylene glycol by ammonium ferric sulfate. The factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and the optimum conditions were found out.The optimum conditions are: molar ratio of ethyl acetoacetate to 1,2-propylene glycol is 1∶1.5,the quantity of catalyst is equal to 1.6% of feed stocks, dried cyclohexane is 12 mL and the reaction time is 5 h.Ammonium ferric sulfate was an excellent catalyst for synthesizing ethyl acetoacetate 1,2-propylene glycol ketal and its yield can reach over 58.8%.
