Abstract
Fraistone was synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate and 1,2-propanediol using cerium sulfate as catalyst. The factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and best conditions were found out. The optimum conditions are: molar ratio of ethyl acetoacetate to 1,2-propanediol was 1∶1.25, the amount of catalyst was 0.3g/0.1mol ethyl acetoacetate, the reaction time was 2h, cerium sulfate was a good catalyst for synthesizing fraistone and its yield can reach 91.5%.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
