Abstract
Ethyl acetoacetate ethylene ketal was synthsized from ethyl acetoacetate and glycol in the presence of phosphotungstic acid. The factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and the best conditions were found out. The optimum conditions are: molar ratio of ethyl acetoacetate to glycol is 1:1. 5, the quantity of catalyst is equal to 0. 5% of feed stocks, and the reaction time is 1. 0 h. Phosphotungstic acid is an excellent catalyst for synthesizing ethyl acetoacetate ethylene ketal and its yield can reach over 82. 2 %.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
