Abstract

【Objective】To investigate the expression of heat shock protein70 (HSP70)and heat shock protein90α (HSP90α) in papillary thyroid carcinoma and its significance and correlation.【Methods】The expression of HSP70 protein and HSP90α were examined in 38 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma, 14 cases of thyroid adenoma and 11 cases of normal thyroid tissue by immunohistochemical method. 【Results】The positive expression rate of HSP70 and HSP90α in papillary thyroid carcinoma were 68.42%, 81.57% ,respectively (P 0.05), they were significantly higher than in thyroid adenoma and normal thyroid tissue (P 0.05). The expression of HSP70 and HSP90α was higher in patients with positive lymph node than that with negative lymph node (P 0.05). There existed an positive relationship between the expression HSP70 and HSP90α. (r =0.421, P 0.05). 【Conclusion】HSP70 and HSP90α may influence the development of papillary thyroid carcinoma by regulating cell proliferation, inhibit cell apoptosis. The combined detection of HSP70 and HSP90α can be used as reference marker in the differential diagnosis of be- nign and malignant thyroid disease, and evaluate the prognosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
