Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression and significance of CK34βE12 and HSP27 in papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC).Methods:The expressions of CK34βE12 protein and HSP27 were examined by immunohistochemical staining using samples of 38 cases with PTC,10 cases with thyroid adenoma and 10 cases of normal thyroid tissue. Results:The positive expression rate of CK34βE12 was 42.10% in PTC compared with no expressions of CK34βE12 in normal thyroid tissue and thyroid adenoma(P = 0.004).There was no significant difference in expression rate of CK34βE12 between the patients with positive lymph node and with negative lymph node(P = 0.861).The positive expression rate of HSP27 was significantly higher in thyroid carcinoma(76.30%)than that in normal thyroid tissue(30.00%)and thyroid adenoma(40.00%,P = 0.017).The expression of HSP27 was higher in patients with positive lymph node than that with negative lymph node(P = 0.031).There was a positive relationship between the expressions of CK34βE12 and HSP27(rs = 0.494,P 0.05).Conclusion:The values of CK34βE12 and HSP27 may influence the development of PTC by regulating cell proliferation. The combined detection of CK34βE12 and HSP27 can be used as a reference marker in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant disease, and evaluated the prognosis of PTC.
