Abstract
Objective To observe the curative effect of video-assisted thoracoscope surgery in the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax. Methods 22 patients with spontaneous pneumothorax were given video-assisted thoracoscope surgery, and the results were compared with those of 36 cases of conventional thoracotomy. The clinical experience of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for spontaneous pneumothorax was summarized. Results It was found that there were no perioperative mortality and recurrence in the follow – up of 2 ~ 12 months. Compared with conventional thoracotomy, the improvement of operation time, blood loss, drainage volume after surgery 24 hours, extubation time and duration of hospital stay was more pronounced in the VATS group. Conclusion VATS is an effective method in the treatment of patients with spontaneous pneumothorax.
