Treating Spontaneous Pneumothorax under Video Assisted Thoracoscope Surgery

Abstract
Objective To investigate the application efficacy of video assisted thoracoscope surgery( VATS) in the treatment spontaneous pneumothorax and the selection of indicatio. Methods Totally 68 patients suffered from spontaneous pneumothorax and pulmonary bulla rupture had been treated under VATS. The clinical effect of VATS on spontaneous pneumothorax was analyzed. Results All the 68 patients recovered well after operationunder video thoracoscope,for they can exercise on the fist day postoperative and have light pain at operating incision,result from chest X-ray showed thatthe lung reexpansion well too and the chest drain tubes were removed at the second day after operation. The average hospitalizing time was 7days and none palindromia occurred. Conclusions Treating spontaneous pneumothorax under VATS was worthy of clinical expanding for it has the advantages such as exact curative effect,little wound,light distress,fast recovery and effective cosmetology.
