Abstract
Objective: To explore the role of the control of urinary system to the spinal cord injury sufferer. Methods: 252 patients with spinal cord injury were divided into control group and intervention group. The intervention group with 126 patients, which were given intermittent urethral catheterization according to the residue UPD,accepted stimulation to the low level reflex center and gains micturition reflex gradually, regained automatic micturition. The control group with 126 patients, were received normal urethral catheterization. The clinical effects of two groups were compared. Results: The intervention group were cured 71 cases,32 cases were excellent,14 cases were good,9 cases were invalid, the total effective rate was 92.86%,control group were cured 59 cases,30 cases were excellent,11 cases were good,26 cases were invalid, the total effective rate was 79.37%.The clinical effect of intervention group was much higher than that of the control group(P0.05).Conclusion: The application of intermittent urethral catheterization in the control of urinary system to spinal cord injury sufferer can accelerate the recovery of the detrusor muscle, relieve the handicap of autonomic nerve and psychology, and has an important clinical significance.
