Influence of "Ziyin Tonglin Decoction" on IL-6 in Patients with Chronic Urinary Tract Infection

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Ziyin Tonglin Decoction in the treatment of chronic urinary tract infection and its influence on immune function.Methods Sixty subjects were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group in which 30 cases were given Ziyin Tonglin Decoction and control group in which another 30 cases were given levofloxacin tablets,with a course of 4 weeks.The clinical efficacy and the levels of blood and urine IL-6 were observed.Results The total effective rate was 86.6% in treatment group and 63.3% in control group(P0.05);after treatment,the symptom score and the levels of blood and urine IL-6 were reduced evidently(P0.05),with great differences in comparison with control group(P0.05).Conclusion Ziyin Tonglin Decoction is quite effective for chronic urinary tract infection,and has dual action in regulating immunity and fighting inflammation.
