Abstract
Silica sulfuric acid( SSA) is a kind of solid acid catalyst with chemical bonding and stable performance.Normal propyl acetate was synthesized from n-propyl alcohol and glacial acetic acid with SSA as catalyst.The optimal reaction conditions were as follows: when the molar ratio of acetic to propyl alcohol was 1∶1,and the reaction time was60 min,the quality of the catalyst to total material was 1.2%,the esterification rate was up to 93.4%.the catalyst was reused after 10 timeed,the esterification rate was still up to 81.8%.SSA showed good catalytic activity for the synthesis of normal propyl acetate.
