Abstract
Silica sulfuric acid( SSA) was a kind of solid acid catalyst with chemical bonding and stable performance. The n- butyl acetate was synthesized from n- butanol and glacial acetic acid with SSA as catalyst. The optimal reaction conditions were as follows: when the quality of the catalyst to total material was 1. 0%,the molar ratio of glacial acetic acid to n- butanol was 1 ∶1. 5 and reaction time was 45 min,the esterification rate was up to 98. 5%. What's more, when the catalyst was reused after 10 times, the esterification rate was still up to 81. 3%. SSA showed good catalytic activity for the synthesis of n- butyl acetate.
