The influence of telmisartan on left ventricular hypertrophy caused by primary hypertension

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the influence of telmisartan on left ventricular hypertrophy caused by primary hypertension.Methods 58 cases with primary hypertension together with left ventricular hypertrophy and impaired diastolic function were choosed,and the improvement of them were evaluated.Results In comparison with them before the treatment,LVDD,IVST,LVPWT decreased,and the E/A ratio increased obviously(P0.01).Telmisartan was effective in the treatment of left ventricular hypertrophy caused by primary hypertension.Conclusion Telmisartan is one kind of ideal medicine for the treatment of hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy.
