The Effect of Telmisartan in Reversing Left Ventrictlar Hypertrophy in Essential Hypertension Patients

Objective To evaluate the effect of Telmisartan in reversing left ventrictlar hypertrophy and improving the diastolic function of left ventricle.Methods 56 patients suffering from hypertension with the damage of diastolic function of left ventricle were chosen,to evaluate the reverse degree of left ventricular hypertrophy and the improvement of the diastolic function of left ventricl after 6 months.Results Compared with prior treatment,LVDd、IVST、LVpwT、LVMI decreased seriously,but the E/A rate increased remarkably.There was significant statistical difference in Telmisartan about reversing left ventricular hypertrophy and improving the diastolic function of left ventricle(P0.01).Conclusions Telmisartan is a ideal antihypertensive medicament with the effect of reversing the left ventricular hypertrophy.
