Clinical Research of Treating Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis Type of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia with Shuang-Hu Capsule

Objective: To observe the Shuang-hu capsule treating benign prostatic hyperplasia( kidney deficiency and blood stasis type) in the clinical efficacy and safety. Methods: With the randomized and controlled method,72 patients of benign prostatic hyperplasia( kidney deficiency and blood stasis type) were selected,36 cases in the treatment group( Shuang-hu capsule),while36 cases in the control group( Long-bi-shu capsule). After a course of treatment( 12 weeks),each group was observed in TCM symptom score,international prostate symptom score( I-PSS),quality of life score( QOL) and maximum flow rate( Qmax) changes of detection before and after the treatment. All results are used SPSS17. 0 statistical analysis,and P≤0. 05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant. Results: In the treatment group,9 cases were cured completely,12 cases were effective,9 cases marks got improved and 3 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate,marked improvement rate were 90. 91% and 63. 64% respectively. Meanwhile the total effective rate,marked improvement rate were 82. 35% and 47. 06% respectively in the control group. The comparison of curative effect between the two groups,the difference was not statistically significant( P 0. 05). Compared with the control group,in the TCM symptom score and maximum flow rate( Qmax),treatment group was more effective than the control group,the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Shuang-hu capsule was effective in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia( kidney deficiency and blood stasis type) and there was same result compared with Long bishu capsule. It could relieve the clinical symptoms,reduce the TCM symptom score,increase the maximum flow rate( Qmax),enhance the quality of life,and without any obvious side effects.
