Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of carvedilol on ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods 100 patients of AMI treated in our department were randomly divided into two groups, all patients were given conventional treatment, the observation group were given carvedilol based on the conventional treatment. Both groups before and after treatment were inspected by echocardiography to obtain the end left ventricular diastolic dimension(LVEDD),end left ventricular systolic dimension(LVESD),end left ventricular diasto licvolume(LVEDV),end left ventricular stroke volume(LVESV) and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF).Results After 24 weeks of treatment the LVEF values,LVEDD,LVESD,LVESV in the observation group were significantly improved compared with before treatment(P0.05 or P 0.01),but changes in the control group were no significant difference(P 0.05).The incidence of heart failure in the control group was 8.0%(4/ 50),and that in the observation group was 6.0%(3 / 50),the difference was no statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusions Carvedilol has a good effect on the inhibition of left ventricular remodeling after AMI.
