A PRIMARILY REPORT ON MOUNTAIN BLACKFLIES CATEGORIZATION IN HENAN(DIPTERA:SIMULIIDAE)

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the basic fauna and geographical distribution of blackflies in Henan Province.Method: Immature stages of blackflies were collected from five different representative areas of Henan Province with conventional methods,and were reared in the lab to produce adults.After the identification of the slide and needle-fixed specimens,a list of blackfly species in Henan and a discussion were given.Results: 22 species including 2 new ones of blackflies that are all from Henan Province of China were reported (including 3 ones that had reported before in this time).Conclusion: there is a rich diversity and characteristic of region of blackflies in Henan Province.It is showed that there is a charaeter of distribution across oriental and palaearctic realm about blackflies in Henan.
