Abstract

Objective: To investigate the basic fauna and geographical distribution of blackflies in Jiangxi Province.Methods: Immature stages of blackflies were collected from seven different representative areas of Jiangxi Province with conventional methods,and were reared in the lab to produce adults.After the identification of the slide and needle-fixed specimens,a list of blackfly species in Jiangxi and a discussion were given.Result: 24 species including 3 new ones of blackflies that are all from Jiangxi of China were reported.Conclusion: There is a rich diversity of blackflies in Jiangxi Province and it is showed that there is a fauna character of oriental realm.
