Abstract

【Objective】 To explore the mental health state of middle or high school students of different nationality in Nanning and provide scientific basis for mental health education in different nationality. 【Methods】 Stratified cluster sample was selected from 7 middle schools of Nanning,2 700 middle school students and their backgrounds were included in the investigation.Instruments comprised Symptom Check List-90(SCL-90) and self-designed questionnaire. 【Results】 16.2% of the middle school students of minority in Nanning had psychological problems.13.7% of the Han nationality students had psychological problems.But the prevalence rate of minority students was not statistically different from that of the Han nationality students(P0.05).The mean scores of all factors of SCL-90 in minority were higher than the counterpart in the Han nationality students. 【Conclusions】 Middle school students of different nationality in Nanning have mental problems of equal graveness and need equal attention.
