Abstract
We studied on the soluble sugar and proline content, and changing regular of five pear cultivars which had different cold resistance during the dormancy stage. The results showed that the contents of soluble sugar and proline increased gradually with the reducing of temperature. The stronger cold resistance cultivars had higher soluble sugar content. The soluble sugar had positively high significance related to the cold resistance, but the proline content had no obvious correlation with hardiness.
