Abstract

Objective To investigate whether the levd of hemoglobin(Hb)affected the prognosis of patients suffered from chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods 142 patients with CHF were evaluated by the relationship be- tween the level of Hb and cardiac insufficiency. The mortality, times of recurrent hospitalization and length of recur- rent hospital stay were followed up for one year. Results 36.6% of CHF patients suffered anaemia, and the lever of Hb decreased and mobidity of anaemia increased respectively with the deterioration of the cardiac function.During the follow-up,mortality,average times of hospitalization, and average length of hospital stay in the anaemia group were higher significantly than those the none-anaemia group. Conclusion Prognosis of CHF patients was partially affected by the low Hb or anaemia, which often happened to CHF patients.
