An Empirical Study on Environmental Kuznets Curve in Heilongjiang Province

By sampling the statistical data of GDP per capita and emissions of the industrial three wastes in Heilongjiang Province from the year of 1985 to 2006,the paper establishes the Heilongjiang Provincial Environmental Kuznets Curve(EKC) model and has a empirical research on the relationship between the economic growth and environmental pollution in Heilongjiang Province.The result shows that since 1985 in Heilongjiang Province the changes of the relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution have confirmed their EKC characteristics.It finds that these changes have great impact on the environmental protection input and the implementation of environmental policies.Therefore,the improvement of environmental quality needs the response of governmental policy.
